Thanks to the Shomrin Community Patrol, the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, and the 90th Precinct, two suspects have been apprehended for committing the spate of hate crimes against members of the Hasidic community in the area around the Broadway Triangle. Violence inspired by hatred based on race, religion, gender or sexuality is an affront to our fundamental values as Americans and New Yorkers and cannot be tolerated. I wish the victims of this violence a speedy and full recovery. I have reached out to the Department of Transportation to improve lighting in this area.
